1. Introduction

The One A9 seems like a proper mid-ranger, well equipped and thoughtfully targeted. The pricing in the USA has been more than attractive, but we have yet to see how the higher EU price will impact the sales. Hopefully carrier contracts and retailer deals would help it in the long run as at its current commitment-free price its odds don't look so good.
In the Sony family tree, the Xperia C5 Ultra follows directly from the Xperia C4 but the Xperia T2 Ultra can lay a claim to parenthood too. The MediaTek chipset is shared between the C5 Ultra and the C4, and so is the FullHD screen resolution. The 6" diagonal is the screen size of the T2 Ultra - released in 2014 but actually three generations old now with Sony's short release cycle.

HTC One A9 is not a flagship device, so we didn't expect flagship results. By choosing a mid-tier chipset HTC made a clear statement the A9 won't be fighting the top of the shelf devices, but rather the upper midranges.

We’re looking at Sony's fifth generation now and the shorter release cycle means the fourth generation of the C-series and the M-series are not past their shelf life yet. It's the kind of extra depth and flexibility in the midrange that will help Sony compete on more than one front. #Marketing

2. My experience (Read the Disclaimer above before reading the following)

Xperia C5 Ultra is very slim and beautiful device , feels good in hand feels premium , worth money , issues like battery backup is OK OK , heating issues are there but can be ignored , beautiful display , nice camera WORTH BUYING 
It is very nice mobile I have been using it since one month no hanging problem battery backup is also nice. Front camera for selfie is awesome back camera not equal to front but overall nice. Overall very nice mobile I love it.

The phone itself is OK, but the problem that I have been experiencing is about the heating of the battery. Few minutes of using the data (less than 10minutes), I could feel the heating part of the phone where the battery was installed. How to get this avoided. I recently purchased this phone.

I also bought my c5 this month and had the same issues like yours. Overheating, fast draining battery and slow charging. The overheating issue was resolved; I just clicked the "factory reset". But the fast draining battery (common used of my phone is just messaging, calls & fb) and the slow charging (charged my phone everyday and it took 4-5 hours before it fully charged) stayed an issue to my end. Very frustrating. Is there anyone who can help us regarding these matters? #googleplusguides

The a9 is a beautiful device with a lot of unrealized potential. After watching a teardown I realize that their internal design isn't ideal for such a form factor. They could easily add a 2500 mAh battery. The on screen nav keys really could've been positioned right next to either side of the fingerprint sensor. The chipset is good, not blazing fast, but it's could benefit from a more power efficient chip. Type c connector would have definitely been appreciated going into 2016. The display is more than adequately sharp. I think if htc were to make a follow up device, they could really build a device worth their $500 asking price. The audio quality via the headphone is amazing BTW

It's a wonderful mobile and user free if it's HTC user speed is good as it has 3 GB RAM. In build photo editing is superb for amateur photographers.
 

Shorts cuts spelling for message is good as per other brands.
 
In future htc will come with new body shape and its application. 

The brightness on the HTC A9 is very bright so I don't know really what gsm was on about.
 
The screen is outstanding and bright modern collars are the best #Android
